Built on a Foundation of Safety

Safety isn't just a priority at EmpireWorks, it's our foundation. We believe every worker deserves to return home safely each day, and every client deserves the peace of mind that comes with working with a safety-first contractor. Our comprehensive safety management system exceeds industry standards and reflects our core values of responsibility, excellence, and care.

Through rigorous adherence to OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Construction Standards and continuous investment in safety training and equipment, we've built a culture where safety excellence drives operational success.

How We Maintain Our Safety Standards:

  • Military-Inspired Discipline and Structure

The Marine Corps background brings a unique, structured, and no-nonsense approach to safety, emphasizing readiness, accountability, and rapid response.

  • Proactive Oversight Across Divisions

The program isn’t just reactive—it includes routine audits, unannounced inspections, and hands-on involvement across multiple job sites and regions.

  • Custom Tailored Training

We offer blended learning (online + in-person), bilingual instruction, and tailored training to meet jobsite-specific hazards—including scaffold, MEWP, and CPR courses.

  • Integrated Safety & Production

Unlike many programs, safety is aligned with production—ensuring that safety supports progress, not delays it. Crews are trained to see safety as an operational strength.

  • Rapid Response & Documentation

Immediate investigation protocols, photo/video documentation, and same-day reporting make your incident response system robust and legally defensible.

  • Subcontractor Accountability System

The program includes a clear process for managing subcontractor compliance—training access, safety box requirements, and enforcement when standards aren’t met.

  • Real-World PPE and Tool Use Guidance

We don’t just “require PPE”—we explain why, provide it, and show how it fits specific tasks (e.g., cut-resistant gloves for trim, or roofing shoes vs. boots).

  • Communication-Focused Culture

Weekly calls, Slack documentation uploads, and Friday prep meetings keep all stakeholders involved and aligned on safety priorities.

Industry-Standard Safety Protocols We Follow

OSHA Compliance & Beyond

We maintain full compliance with all Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards, including specialized protocols for fall protection, electrical safety, excavation safety, and personal protective equipment. Our team receives regular OSHA 10-Hour and 30-Hour training certifications.

Daily Safety Management

Every project begins with comprehensive Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and continues with daily toolbox talks, safety briefings, and ongoing hazard assessment. Our competent persons conduct regular safety inspections and maintain detailed documentation.

Focus Four Hazard Prevention

Our safety program specifically addresses OSHA's "Focus Four" construction hazards:

  • Fall Protection: Comprehensive systems for work at heights over 6 feet
  • Struck-by Object Prevention: Site organization and protective protocols
  • Electrical Safety: Lockout/tagout procedures and qualified electrical work
  • Caught-in/Between Protection: Excavation safety and equipment protocols
